New technical capacities

As part of the technical studies, expansion measures that will enable new technical capacities to be offered after their completion were identified, taking into account the existing infrastructure. On the basis of that, the more capacity TSOs are currently planning to offer new technical capacities in addition to the existing capacities at the following network points. The capacity levels specified in the following do not include the reservation quotas for short-term capacity marketing prescribed under the NC CAM and the decision of the Federal Network Agency (BK7-15-001) KARLA Gas 1.1 (“KARLA Gas”).

ENTRY direction

Greifswald-NEL

Planned expansion of the existing network interconnection point of NEL with Nord Stream (point 224 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 28,608,944 kWh/h.

The planned new technical capacities total 6,600,000 kWh/h, distributed as follows: 

  • Fluxys Deutschland GmbH 1,575,538 kWh/h,
  • Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH 1,658,462 kWh/h and 
  • NEL Gastransport GmbH 3,366,000 kWh/h.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities for this network point will total 35,208,944 kWh/h after the expansion.

Vierow GASCADE

Planned new connection of Nord Stream 2 to GASCADE’s pipeline network near Greifswald (see next to point 224 in Figure 1).

New technical transport capacities will be provided by GASCADE analogously to the planned commissioning of the project phases. The maximum possible transport capacity (plateau phase) will be offered as of marketing year 2020/2021. The planned new technical capacities in the plateau phase are 79,147,641 kWh/h.

Vierow Gasunie

Planned new connection of Nord Stream 2 to Gasunie’s pipeline network near Greifswald (see next to point 224 in Figure 1). The new technical capacities planned by Gasunie are 3,145,000 kWh/h.

GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/ONTRAS

Planned expansion of the connection with Poland (see point 39 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 1,118,626 kWh/h.

The planned new technical capacities are 1,825,000 kWh/h.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities for this network point will total 2,943,626 kWh/h after the expansion.

EXIT direction

Zone Oude Statenzijl

Planned expansion of the existing connection with the Netherlands (see point 16 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 1,490,567 kWh/h.

The planned new technical capacities are 12,000,000 kWh/h.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities for this network point will total 13,490,567 kWh/h after the expansion.

Mallnow

Planned expansion of the existing connection with Poland (see point 38 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 7,700,000 kWh/h.

New technical transport capacities will be provided by GASCADE analogously to the planned commissioning of the project phases. The maximum possible transport capacity (plateau phase) will be offered as of gas year 2020/2021. The planned new technical capacities in the plateau phase in offering level I are: 4,288,000 kWh/h, in offering level II: 6,286,000 kWh/h, and in offering level III: 13,986,000 kWh/h. Offering levels I to III will be offered as freely allocable capacities and are not in competition with EXIT capacities of other network points in GASCADE’s pipeline network within the meaning of Article 3 Section 5 NC CAM.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities after the expansion will total in offering level I: 11,988,000 kWh/h, in offering level II: 13,986,000 kWh/h, and in offering level III: 21,686,000 kWh/h for this network point.

Deutschneudorf

Planned expansion of the existing connection with the Czech Republic (see point 41 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 4,400,000 kWh/h.

The planned new technical capacities are 2,000,000 kWh/h.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities for this network point will total 6,400,000 kWh/h after the expansion.

Deutschneudorf-EUGAL

Planned new connection with the Czech Republic by GASCADE (see the blue dot next to point 41 in Figure 1).

New technical transport capacities will be provided by GASCADE analogously to the planned commissioning of the project phases. The maximum possible transport capacity (plateau phase) will be offered as of gas year 2020/2021. The planned new technical capacities in the plateau phase in offering level I are: 45,158,999 kWh/h, in offering level II: 52,413,999 kWh/h, and in offering level III: 56,813,999 kWh/h.

GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/ONTRAS

Planned expansion of the connection with Poland (see point 39 in Figure 1).

The existing capacities are 2,029,300 kWh/h.

The planned new capacities are 669,000 kWh/h.

The existing capacities and new technical capacities for this network point will total 2,698,300 kWh/h after the expansion.
