Transmission system operators marketing up to 138 GW over the long term
Düsseldorf/Hanover/Kassel/Leipzig. Almost two years after the market survey launched on creating new capacities, the latter have now been offered on the European PRISMA capacity platform. In just over 400 annual auctions, transport customers purchased new and existing capacities from the more capacity partners amounting to a total of 138 GW per year. Fluxys Deutschland GmbH, GASCADE Gastransport GmbH, Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH, NEL Gastransport GmbH and ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH thus managed to sell up to 78 GW for four transition points to the GASPOOL market area on the entry side, and a total of around 60 GW on the exit side. This largely confirmed the results of the market survey.
The bookings related to the market area transition points between GASPOOL and Russia, as well as GASPOOL and the Czech Republic, and include both freely allocable capacity (fac) and dynamically allocable capacity (dac) extending in part through to 2039.
The results of the auctions will now undergo an economic review. They serve as the basis for an economic and sustainable expansion of the pipeline network and should be included as an identified capacity requirement in the Scenario Framework for the 2018 Network Development Plan (NDP).
